Offset Printing Services in Palakollu
Offset printing becomes cheaper than digital at roughly 1,000 copies and is the right choice for brochures, books, calendars, bill books and flyer runs in the thousands. We quote per job because plate cost is fixed and paper is the biggest variable, send the specification for a same-day quote.
The question we get asked most is "offset or digital?" The honest answer is that it depends almost entirely on quantity, and the crossover is around a thousand pieces. Below that, digital. Above it, offset saves you real money, and the gap widens fast.

How it works, step by step
Send the specification
day 1Size, number of pages, paper, colours, quantity, binding. If you are unsure, bring a sample of something similar.
Written quote
same dayItemised, plate, paper, printing, finishing. So you can see what changes if you change the paper.
Artwork and proof
1 to 2 daysCMYK, 300dpi, with 3mm bleed. We do the prepress if you only have a Word file.
Plate making and printing
2 to 3 daysPlates are made once. This is why reprints of the same job later are cheaper.

Things worth knowing before committing to an offset run
- Print ten percent more than you think you need. Coming back for another 500 means paying the plate cost a second time, and that is usually more than the extra paper would have been.
- Ask for a paper sample before approving. The same 130gsm art paper varies noticeably between mills, and paper is both the largest line in the quote and the biggest single factor in whether the finished piece feels cheap.
- Convert every font to outlines before sending artwork. A Telugu font that is not on our system will silently substitute, and nobody notices until the plates are made and paid for.
- Leave the plates with us. We store them for repeat customers, so an annual calendar or a bill book reprint skips a full day and a fixed cost. Ask for this rather than assuming it happens.
Frequently asked questions
When is offset printing cheaper than digital?
At roughly 1,000 copies and above. Offset carries a fixed plate cost that digital does not, so below a thousand pieces digital wins; above it, offset is cheaper and the gap widens with quantity.
What is the minimum quantity for offset printing?
Technically 500, practically 1,000. Below 1,000 the plate cost dominates and you are better off on digital.
How long does an offset printing job take?
Four to six working days end to end, one for proofing, one for plates, two to three for printing and finishing. Large book jobs run longer.
What file format should I send for offset printing?
A press-ready PDF in CMYK at 300dpi with 3mm bleed and fonts outlined. If you only have Word or a JPG, we handle the prepress ourselves.
Do you print books and calendars?
Yes, souvenir books, temple publications, school magazines, annual wall and desk calendars. Calendars should be ordered by early November to make the season.
Can you match an exact brand colour?
Yes, offset can hit an exact Pantone with a spot colour. Digital printing can only approximate it in CMYK, which matters if your brand colour is a strong orange or a deep blue.
How many working days should I allow?
Four to six end to end. One day for proofing, one for plates, two to three for printing and finishing. Book jobs and anything needing outside binding run longer. Building in a spare day is cheaper than paying for urgency.
What is a plate and why does it cost extra?
A thin metal sheet carrying the image, made once per colour per job. That is the fixed cost that makes offset expensive at small quantities and cheap at large ones. We store plates for repeat customers, so your annual reprint skips both the cost and a day.
Do you print books and souvenirs?
Yes, souvenir books, temple publications, school magazines and annual reports. Page count must divide by four because sheets are folded in half. A hundred page book at 500 copies is around 42,000 rupees depending on paper and binding.
